Today (Tuesday 8th November) there is total lunar eclipse taking place. This is when the moon travels through the earth’s shadow, meaning the sun’s light cannot reach it making it appear red. It is also a full moon. This eclipse bookmarks a two week long inter-eclipse period. As there was a solar eclipse on the 25th October. This means three major astral bodies: the earth, the sun and the moon have formed a straight line in the sky twice in two weeks. Imagine the tension this creates magnetically up on high, and how that will be reverberating through each of us as it does the oceans and their currents. This is a potent moment. But it can feel very messy, turbulent and charged.

The Qualities of the Inter-Eclipse Period

The solar eclipse in late October came in the sign of Scorpio (in Western astrology), which is the house of secrets. Its energies unearthing that which needs to be revealed. Like a grave digger exposing things we’ve hidden in our psyches; bringing them to the surface for us to deal with. The lunar eclipse today, in Vedic astrology comes under the Nakshatra (lunar mansion) of Bharani, who is ruled over by Yama, the god of death. This is the time to excavate, let die and pass away, what ever is not in your highest interest. What does this mean? Feel free to get in touch with me here if you want to find out more on a personal level. All in all, however painful it may be feeling, this is an opportunity. We can keep going round in circles, repeating old habits and patterns, getting on the same merry-go-round that we’ve been on and off for lifetimes, or we use this energy like a knife to cut through the dank dark recesses, and bring the highness and light into our lives. This all takes resilience and fortitude and faith… use your potency and the power of the line up as your energy source.

Timings and Advice for the Actual Eclipse

The actual eclipse will take place on November 8th 2022 at 05:09 EST (09:09 GMT). It will become fully blood red-hued to the red-hued at 06:19 EST (10:16 GMT). The line up will end by 07:41 am EST (11:41 GMT). My advice is to hunker down and not go outside while it’s happening, if you can help it. The veil becomes very thin when this eclipse occurs, so there will be a lot of activity going on in the subtle realms that we don’t want to get entangled with. I would stay in, perhaps fast from food, meditate and rest through this period. Sitting with all that reveals itself and letting it allllll goooo! You got this.
