How Chyawanprash Replenishes Prana

PIOR Living / Chyawanprash / How Chyawanprash Replenishes Prana

November 21, 2019 by Amanda

Prana is our vital life force. Ayurveda advises that one has to protect prana as it ultimately leads to quality of life and longevity.

Chyawanprash is an ancient rasayana that can help increase prana. The following points explain how this herbal supplement can restore our vital life force.

Chyawanprash is Filled with Life Force

According to Ayurveda, our food carries life force. When we eat, we extract, process and absorb life giving energy.

The vital energy in our food comes from the quality of ingredients, but also how the food came to be. Therefore, fresh, organic foods that are cultivated with integrity possess greater life force.

PIOR Living Chyawanprash delivers an unwavering commitment to the entire Dietary Ecosystem. PIOR Living’s products are 100% natural and sustainably sourced from farms and villages throughout India. Informed by the ancient Vedic system, each ingredient is harvested with the seasons, minimally processed and used with intention. The result is live food filled with high vibrations and life force.

Chyawanprash Ensures Prana Availability to Body Tissues

In addition to possessing high levels of life force, Chyawanprash contains ingredients which aid in the absorption of prana into the deepest levels of our dhatus (tissues). Specifically, amalaki (or amla berry) and its extract infuses prana throughout the dhatus while ghee, raw honey and sesame oil function as anupans (carrier substances) to ensure absorption and delivery to the deepest layers.

Chyawanprash Aids Detoxification for Prana Absorption and Circulation

Chyawanprash also contains many ingredients which facilitate detoxification within the body. Detoxification is essential for prana to flow freely within the body. This is because ama (toxins) accumulation prevents prana absorption and blocks energy pathways.

The specific Chyawanprash ingredients which aid detoxification organs (e.g. liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys, and skin) include golden apple, holy basil, ginger, zedoary, neem, nut grass, licorice, raisin and jaggery.

In addition, long pepper and malabar tree serve to amalgamize prana in the breath.

Chyawanprash is a Powerful Rasayana

Rasayana is a Sanskrit word that translates to “path of essence.” It is often defined as the science of promoting longevity. Ayurveda recognizes that as we age, the structure and function of our tissues deteriorate due to a decline in the Pranik Quotient. Rasayanas facilitate the rejuvenation of tissues by nurturing them with Pranik nutrients. This decelerates the aging process.

Considered the ‘first and foremost rasayana,’ Chyawanprash contains a high level of Pranik nutrients, which are found in ashwagandha (and its extract), shatavari, bacopa, arjuna, lotus seed, tinospora, chebulic myrobalan, tribulus, boerhavia, phyllanthus, and leptadenia. The Chyawanprash ingredients that deliver Pranik nourishment to sense organs include cinnamon, saffron, cardamom, and mesua.

The Power of ‘Prash’

Lastly, ‘prash’ in Sanskrit refers to the concept of consuming food artfully or intentionally. Chyawanprash is meant to be consumed mindfully. This results in a meditative experience that fuels prana restoration.
