Chyawanprash is a revered Ayurvedic jam formulated with many different medicinal herbs and spices. It can be consumed to provide a number of health benefits. However, depending on the time that you consume it, you may experience different effects. Learn when to eat Chyawanprash based on the specific benefits it offers.

When Should We Eat Chyawanprash?

Chyawanprash in the Morning

In general, the best time to eat Chyawanprash is in the morning on an empty stomach. When your stomach is empty, it is much easier for your body to absorb the vitamins, minerals, and medicinal substances. This allows you to maximize the health benefits of the formula. There’s a couple of ideals time to consume Chyawanprash in the morning:

Before Breakfast

Chyawanprash helps to stimulate agni and bolster digestion, so if you’re looking to improve your digestion, it can be beneficial to take this formula an hour to 15 min before eating. For instance, if you typically consume breakfast around 8 AM, enjoy 1-2 teaspoons between 7 AM and 7:45 AM.

4 AM to Sunrise

Chyawanprash also functions as a prana supplement. Authentically made Chyawanprash is not only rich in prana, but facilitates the absorption and flow of prana. If you’re looking to increase your prana, it’s best to take this supplement in the early morning hours, between 4 AM and sunrise, when prana can be absorbed readily from the environment. Combine your consumption of Chyawanprash with a pranayama practice to further aid prana replenishment.

Chyawanprash in the Late Afternoon

Some people enjoy taking Chyawanprash in the late afternoon as a pick me up. It’s energizing qualities can make for a healthy alternative to caffeine. It can also curb sweet cravings and stimulate digestion for early evening dinners.

While you can consume Chyawanprash in the evening, it’s generally not recommended. Chyawanprash is a powerful tonic and can be energizing. This means that it could make it difficult for you to fall asleep if you take it too late in the evening.

Chyawanprash Before Yoga
